Cwmbran Caving Club are a friendly,  family orientated group of cavers who meet  on a fairly informal basis every Tuesday evening in the Green Lawn Social Club,  The Highway,  New Inn, Pontypool at around 2100 hours.
.

Club caving business is discussed in the relaxed surroundings of the lounge bar, where strict adherence to abstention from alcoholic beverages is NOT enforced!  (certain members jokes always sound better after a few anyway!)
.
Membership includes a diverse age range with vast caving experience within the club, with an extensive knowledge of cave systems, both locally and nationally, and cave leaderships are also held by Cwmbran members.
.
Members are also experienced and active within Cave Rescue and many hold skills associated with that discipline. There are also members active within the specialised Cave Diving Group.
.
Cave conservation is a well supported  ideal within the club, and members are ALWAYS encouraged to be vigilant in this collective responsibility amongst the caving fraternity!
.
Safe caving, respect for the cave environment are important to the club then, but ENJOYMENT of the "sport" is also a club aim.
.
At  whatever level, fellow enthusiasts are ALWAYS welcome to join us. If You are already a keen Caver, and you wish to join us, then you would be most welcome. If on the other hand you are not experienced and you would like to give it a go, then pop along to the Club night or contact one of the Officers on the contact page, or alternatively, drop us an e-mail. Introductory trips are possible before full commitment is necessary. Just contact the club for details.
.
Full membership of Cwmbran Caving club is by annual subscription.
.
Recently, due to the litigation crazy world that we live in, we have seen a vast hike in the costs of annual insurance premiums. It can give the impression that caving is a dangerous pastime.
This could not be further from the truth. Done with the correct equipment, and with experienced companions, and within the limitations of the weakest member of the party, the most dangerous part of a caving trip is probably the car trip to and from the cave. Never the less, insurance costs have escalated in recent times.
.
Full membership of CCC for 2009 will be £12 membership and £19 insurance making a total of £31
